Carlos looked down at his phone accepting the call as he raised the camera so he was in view “Hey Cecil.”
"I know..I just don’t want to stress you out even more," Carlos shrugged, "because you’re already dealing with so much I just.. I don’t know.." he looked away from the screen.
"Might just be the sun getting to my head, so I can’t think right.."
"No, don’t say that," he whispered, tears gathering in his eyes again. "I am always happy to hear your voice, no matter what you’re saying.” At that moment, more than ever, he wished he could reach out and touch Carlos. To hold him, let him know that everything was okay. A tear fell down his cheek, and he quickly wiped it away, not wanting Carlos to worry. “So if anything happens, even if you think it’s silly, if you are excited, or sad, or lonely, or scared, or anything, I want you to talk to me. Never think you’ll bother me. Don’t ever think that.”
